About Raula

Hello everyone, I am a twenty-something indie author and this blog is used to (occaisonally) discuss the turmoil of creating, editing and publishing a novel in this modern day. My latest project is a medieval fantasy, with lots of court intrigue, sword fighting, sex plays and backstabbing. My characters come at the centre of every piece of fiction I write because it's their troubles and choices that we can all relate to. The lavish settings and historical details are just trappings. If you are interested in this type of fiction, or you just want to share your writing journey with someone, by all means follow my blog.

Dusting off the pages…

I’ve had a productive literary morning. It started with writing a new chapter for my project, which took me to the end of my notebook. I need to get on eBay to order a new one since this novel insists … Continue reading

21,930 words…

It’s a fair amount. 5,000 words more than my undergrad dissertation but woefully less than I had hoped to write this summer. At least my type up is completed now which means I can get on with the business of … Continue reading

97 scribbled notebook pages…

I’ve decided to resurrect this blog (again) to talk about my latest literary venture. I’ve made the rather uncanny decision to have a go at self-publishing, since I live by the mantra of trying everything at least once (apart … Continue reading

Another fall…

So there is a reason why I have left it a fortnight updating the blog. Literally hours after making my first entry about my new horse, she bronked again and this time threw me into a fence and caused an … Continue reading

I have decided to re-open this blog to talk about my experiences with my new young horse, Amber.   She is a 5 y/o 15.3hh Irish Draught X. This is her: I bought her last Friday and she bronced me … Continue reading
